![]() The Snake Oil merchant Professor Perry shares many similarities with DC Universe's Joker: Perry enjoys mocking Jack Swift and so does the Joker with Batman, Fidgit is probably a parody of Joker's helper named Gaggy, and both characters have scientific knowledge on the development of toxins. ![]() Pig Joe was a fat shirtless man who made dynamite his primary weapon and favorite clothing accessory. Pig Josh's character is likely a reference to Pig Joe, a boss character in the 1985 Capcom game Gun.Smoke. Swift may have also been inspired by the character English Bob from the 1992 Western movie Unforgiven. Both characters are also immigrants to the United States, Masterson was born in Canada, whilst Swift was born in Sandhurst, England. Like Swift, Masterson generally wore three-piece suits and a bowler hat. Jack Swift may have been inspired by the real-life lawman, gambler, and gunslinger Bat Masterson. The Pan-Atlantic Railroad has a name similar to the " Panlantic Construction Company", a construction company from the Grand Theft Auto series that is based in Liberty City. The character of Curly Shaw may be inspired by that of the ranch boss' son "Curly" in the John Steinbeck novel " Of Mice and Men", also sharing some of his mannerisms and physical appearances. The "Delmonico's Fine Restaurant" located near the Sheriff's office in Widow's Patch may be a nod to the real-world restaurant chain " Delmonico's", which operated in New York City since the late 1820s. Redemption is, like Widow's Patch, controlled by the leader of a criminal gang. The town of Widow's Patch appears to be based on "Redemption", a fictional frontier town within the universe of Sam Raimi's The Quick and the Dead (1995). The same thing happens in the 1965 film For a Few Dollars More, where at the end of the film we find the main character, "Manco", with a car loaded with corpses so it cannot be closed. In the introductory cutscene of the third chapter, Red Harlow is next to a cart full of corpses, which are overflowing from the back of it. Crockett's most distinctive feature was his iconic raccoon hat. Some snipers in-game wear outfits with raccoon hats similar to those worn by real-life frontiersman Davy Crockett. Both of them lose their left arms in very dumb circumstances, both wear green military uniforms, and both have a similar facial structure. It is possible that Rockstar took Phil Cassidy, a character that has appeared in almost every Grand Theft Auto game, as an inspiration when creating Colonel Daren. Additionally, both Red Harlow and Bill Meceita seek revenge for the unfair assassination of their families. This scene is very reminiscent of the beginning of the film Death Rides a Horse (1967) in which you find Bill Meceita practicing his shooting skills, with the pans arranged in a similar way to what we saw in "Bull's Eye". In the first chapter of the game during the tutorial that leads the player to understand the shooting mechanics, there will be a moment where you will have to shoot plates, bottles and cans. And the main character "Blondie", from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly carries a gun of a similar make and model to the Scorpion.īill Meceita! What are you doing to my pots and pans? The Scorpion Revolver is based on the coiled silver snake inlaid revolver wielded by the famous "Man With No Name" from the "Dollars" Trilogy. ![]() It can be seen that Red's appearance is very similar to Clint Eastwood's, and this similarity is reinforced by the character's attitude - in fact, in the course of the game, Red speaks only when absolutely necessary and always with a few words, as well as "The Man with No Name". ![]() Red Harlow, the game's protagonist, is inspired by the well-known "Man with No Name", the character played by Clint Eastwood in Spaghetti Western films directed by director Sergio Leone - films such as the Dollars Trilogy: A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966). ![]() 1.3 Bill Meceita!
